Circula, a family-owned watch company from Pforzheim, Germany since 1955 is one of the oldest centers of the German watch industry—has just unveiled its latest creation: the ProFlight pilot's watch. This new model beautifully merges modern design elements with the timeless appeal of historical Flieger features, continuing Pforzheim's storied legacy in pilot's timepieces.
We're incredibly excited to see Circula add the Flieger style to their acclaimed sports-inspired, German-designed mechanical timepiece lineup.
For those of you who may not be familiar with Circula, you're in luck. We have covered multiple Circula models and have included two of them in some of our "best of" compilations. The Circula ProTrail made our favorite field watch list, and the DiveSport Titanium was recommended as one of the best divers in the independent/microbrand watchmaker space. Back to the ProFlight.
Collaborating with the acclaimed Swiss designer Guy Bove, formerly of Tag Heuer and IWC, Circula has crafted the ProFlight with impeccable attention to detail. The numerals are uniquely designed for maximum legibility, blending seamlessly with the case’s design through a mix of sharp edges and smooth curves. Inside, the watch’s circular structure mimics the rotation of a propeller, enhancing its aviation theme. The hour hand features a short but wide luminous surface, echoing the front angle of the pilot’s triangle and emphasizing the faceted case concept.
The modern 12 o’clock marker reinterprets the traditional flieger triangle with a lighter, more dynamic design, and the dots are precisely placed at the 59 and 01 minute/second marks for optimal readability. This model is also the first to showcase the new Circula logo, updating the brand’s historical design with a fresh touch.
The ProFlight’s case is made from hand-sandblasted, faceted stainless steel and is anti-magnetic up to 80,000 A/m, thanks to a soft iron cage. This robust case houses the reliable and precise Swiss Sellita SW200-1 Elaboré movement. The watch is further protected by a sapphire crystal and a special surface treatment that makes it exceptionally durable, achieving a hardness of up to 1,200 Vickers. With water resistance up to 150 meters and a screw-down crown in flieger design, the ProFlight is built to perform in any situation. Its dimensions—a 40 mm diameter, 46 mm lug-to-lug distance, and 12 mm height—strike a perfect balance between functionality and elegance.
The ProFlight pilot’s watch embodies Circula’s commitment to outstanding design, precision, and quality, all proudly made in Germany.
Available with a matching sailcloth textile strap for EUR/USD 1029 in Circula’s online store, the ProFlight also offers an optional scratch-resistant steel bracelet for an additional EUR/USD 170.
Circula was founded by Heinz Huber in 1955 and revitalized in 2018 by his grandson, Cornelius Huber. The brand uses traditional watchmaking techniques and high-quality materials to create reliable and distinctive tool watches. Featuring modern Swiss mechanical movements from Sellita, Circula watches also offer personalized design experiences for customers. The name Circula reflects the movement of the wheels in mechanical watches. Discover more about Circula and its unique timepieces in their online shop.
