This is one reason why FARER made its way into our rankings of the 7 best microbrands of 2023. Check it out here.
We digress. Let's get back to the Durham Pullman.
FARER Durham Pullman - The Details
The new Pullman edition is based on the original Durham featuring a cushion case but adds a rich dark green while complimenting the green with metallic brushed finishes. Layered on top of the base Durham dial is the raised and radially brushed dial ring with a sector effect. A Dauphine handset, polished silver markers, and a baton/roman numeral mix help to accent the silver seconds sub-dial at 6 o'clock. The combination yields a high contrast and incredibly versatile style that fits under the cuff or sleeve of a tuxedo, as well as bundled up against your fisherman's sweater.

Design | Wearability | Versatility
Ahhh.... The cushion case. If you're a fan of classic watch case designs, especially those built around purpose and comfort then the cushion case should be familiar to you. and if you know, you know. They are incredibly comfortable on the wrist. From vintage Seiko and Panerai to FARER, the cushion case has long been a go-to design for comfort, versatility, and wearability.
The Durham Pullman features a 38.5mm diameter case with relatively short lug-to-lug distances and acceptable thicknesses that lend themselves to wearing on any occasion. It also LOOKS bigger than the case shape alludes, but wears smaller. The wizardry.
The flowing curves along with the high polish and constant light reflection guarantee to stand out. Add in the dark green dial with the textured dial ring and silver components and there is no doubt, that people will notice this watch (though we wish they would tell us that).
Hand-Wound Movement with FARER Decoration
Adding to the nostalgia of the cushion case, FARER opts for the Hand-Wound Elaboré-grade Sellita SW216-1 movement. When fully wound (by hand) the movement carries approximately 45 hours of power reserve. The additional care taken by FARER to blue the screws and decorate the movement shows their interest in creating visually attractive pieces inside and out. There is something about manually-wound watches. Watching the Durham's balance wheel oscillate through a sapphire caseback while the FARER name stands engraved on the bespoke bridge would certainly be worth the price of admission. Maybe this exact view from another watch inspired the name Balance & Bridge. Spoiler alert: It did.
