Introducing the Nomadic Fior 555: A GMT Watch Rooted in Heritage and Adventure

Nomadic Fior 555 GMT

Nomadic Watches, based in Belfast, is excited to introduce the Fíor 555, marking their first venture into the GMT watch category. This release combines modern design with the rich shipbuilding history of Belfast, a city known for its bold engineering and adventurous spirit. Named after the SS Nomadic, the last surviving White Star Line ship, the Fíor 555 reflects a desire to explore new horizons while staying connected to one's roots.

Founded in 2021 by Peter McAuley, Nomadic focuses on crafting robust tool watches that offer both style and durability. The Fíor 555 carries this ethos forward, featuring a name that has personal significance. "Fíor" means "true" in Irish, while "555" refers to Belfast’s geographic coordinates (54°34' North, 5°55' West). This watch reflects both the heritage of its home city and the pursuit of adventure, wherever you may be.

At its core, the Fíor 555 is powered by the Swiss-made Sellita SW330-2 movement. This reliable mechanism provides a 56-hour power reserve and a beat rate of 28,800 bph. The GMT function makes it easy to track time in multiple zones, a handy feature for travelers.

The watch’s 41mm case, with a thickness of 12.5mm, is crafted from fine brushed and polished 316L stainless steel, striking a balance between toughness and refinement. The domed anti-reflective sapphire crystal ensures excellent durability and readability, while the 200-meter water resistance means this timepiece can handle a variety of conditions, whether you're on land or at sea.

A standout feature of the Fíor 555 is its bi-directional ceramic bezel, featuring lumed numerals with X1 grade Superluminova for extra brightness in low-light settings. The bezel’s sleek design pairs functionality with a modern aesthetic, making the watch versatile for any occasion.

The Fíor 555 comes in four color options, each featuring a two-toned bezel, allowing wearers to choose a look that suits their personal style. For those wanting something a bit more striking, Nomadic is also releasing a Prestige version of the Fíor 555. This edition includes a two-tone gold-plated bracelet and case, adding a more refined touch to the watch’s rugged build.
