A Pop Of Color in the Darkness of Winter
These new models are meant to be a reflection of the winter and a testament to the elements and materials that stand the test of time. Featuring a Titanium DLC case and vibrant lacquered tangerine dials, the Tennessee Tangerine Standard Issue Field Watch is sure to add a pop of color to the darkness that surrounds it. Combine the DLC case with a black rubber strap, fitted with a titanium DLC buckle and you have a great addition to your athletic look.
We Read Your Mind - What Exactly is DLC?
DLC stands for Diamond-Like Carbon, a coating used in watchmaking to enhance durability. It involves depositing a layer of carbon onto metal surfaces like titanium (in this case) or stainless steel. DLC coatings provide exceptional scratch resistance and a sleek appearance, making watches more resilient to wear and corrosion over time. DLC is a popular choice for creating sporty or rugged-looking timepiece especially in darker hues like black.
Not to be confused with PVD, another common coating in watchmaking you may have heard of. PVD or Physical Vapor Deposition is also used to enhance durability and watch case appearances and finishes, but DLC offers superior durability and resistance to scratches and surface damage.
